The average violent crime in the United States is 399 instances per every 100,000 people. (I make the argument that Cameron Parish doesn’t count.) But, of course, Lake Charles is the most heavily populated area and the rest of Calcasieu Parish has a lower crime rate as a result. The LCPD says that the Lake Charles metro area includes all of Cameron and Calcasieu Parishes.
